Character's Name: Groudon ("Pele")
Character's username
earthshaper
Game Series: Pokemon

Age (If there is a change): still a bajillion years
Canon point changes (If any): Nop
Additional history:
After the rude awakening that nearly threw the Hoenn region into geological ruin, the Blue and Red Orb slept for a time in the hands of Pokemon labs and scientific study - and so too did Groudon, under the earth. However, after a mix up in the mail, the artifact landed in the hands of one Green Oak, instead of his esteemed grandfather. And he had to just go about touching something that wasn't his.
The Red Orb may not have held any control over Groudon, but she felt its power returning just as easily as if it were her own second heart - and it summoned her to the school, where she rampaged her way through the mountains with the intent to find and retrieve it. Giovanni's school trip, as it happened, was simply in her way. She tore through the archeological site, sparking a fierce fight from Knuckles, Sasha, Sonny Moe, and Silver the Hedgehog. Giovanni was injured trying to capture the Legendary Pokemon, and with more important matters on her mind, Groudon retreated into the molten underground to hunt for the Orb without distractions.
Earthquakes rattled the school as she erupted in the school courtyard and advanced on Green's dormitory and smashed through his wall. She pursued the desperate trainer, with rocks and searing drought pouring down on him until his Pokemon arrived at the scene to save him. By severing a physical contact with the Orb, its energy dimmed also, and was lost during the ensuing battle against Bulba and Blast. It was Arceus who had to end the fightoff screen, and set Groudon on a less violent way to reclaim the Orb.
So, she became Smash Academy's ceramics teacher. Of the people she fought and encountered during her rampage were more forthcoming with acceptance than others (though the grudge on their part was understandable). Pele, however, cared not a whit for their grievances. She cared even less for the romantic pursuits of her mother and diamond sister. There was somefangirling reverence still among the populace, which was a pleasant surprise in this day and age. And even she had to admit there were some remarkable displays of spirit at the school - enough to catch her interest in a few individuals.
What interested her more, however, was the discovery that some of them actually hailed from distant, foreign lands. That is, lands that had come into being without her, land that was unshaped by her hand. That was more significant than anything else to her. Was there in fact another force at play that brought these worlds into existence, or was it through a strange fracture of time where they were simply continents she would create in the future? In this, being able to listen to Knuckles's descriptions of his homeland was strangely compelling for her.
At the same time, both Kyogre and Rayquaza also made their way to the school. And while Pele and Kyogre were really both after the same goals, their grudge remained so entrenched that she made it a point to avoid his company and disrupt his silly storm clouds. Rayquaza attempted to reconcile the two during the Halloween masquerade, but their civility toward each other continued to be held shakily in place by mutual aversion. The masquerade also introduced her to Byrne, with whom she traded a few blows in place of a dance, and offered her a stiff conversation with a man who appeared to have the physique of a brick wall. Celebi also joined the school ranks, and was taken to bothering her on occasion in her volcanic home.
After being falsely accused by Kyogre of killing the Lake Kraken, the sightings of Groudon grew more scarce as her periodic naps grew longer and longer. Her isolated lifestyle didn't lend itself well to many friends, but those who fancied a climb through the mountains could chance a meeting. An old Russian man, a young stag with a mind for tradition... Byrne would scale the cliffs to join her in stone-faced silence at times.
The last time Pele was spotted, she was stepping on chalk drawings and conversing with a small child - one who held no fear for her. After that, she fell into slumber and hasn't emerged since.
Personality Changes:
Pele is not a creature that lends herself well to change. She's stubborn as rock and unfeeling as dirt and very, very stuck in her ways. Even her friends (concept used very loosely) are slow to sway her from her overly serious nature.
However, the discovery of different lands has stirred her thoughts. Though she shows little outwardly, she's begun to spend her contemplations on the course of her own future - something she hasn't bothered to consider for a very long time. After all, with eons stretched before her feet, why should she concern herself with adapting to the times?
Well, the times right now were more interesting than she had given it credit for. With the ambitions of team Magma and now this spirited school, it had been a while since Pele had been motivated to remain awake for more than days at a time. Groudon thought she knew everything she needed to know - that is to say, everything necessary in her capacity as an earthshaper - but these new unknowns are a thing she finds refreshing, in her old age. The fact that this feeling of not knowing is actually not unpleasant is a surprise to herself most of all. Within the privacy of her mountainous home, she attempts small-scale experimentation with her powers with the hope to understand something new, but it is not a hope she has yet shared at length with anyone else.
Perhaps this is not a thing that has affected much in Pele's stony outward demeanor, but it has made her aware of the possibility for change, which by itself is a big step. Long had she simply accepted that sleeping, near-forgotten in the earth was a fate that stretched as far as her considerable lifespan... but even if that were no longer the case, she has spent so long doing so that dreaming up a preferable alternative is difficult.
At the very least, it's made her a little more open to engaging with the present. Pele has taken somewhat to watching people from afar, rather than simply ignoring their presence in deliberate isolation. She rarely interferes still, but if people come to her, then she will readily accept their stories and listen - albeit with an unsympathetic ear. The Continent Pokemon continues to have no desire to live as equals with these mortal creatures as some of her brethren are wont to do, but some small part of her is rediscovering the enjoyment of living vicariously through their bright, blazing spirits.
In-Character 1st person sample:
[The camera turns on. Pele is staring at the screen with her eyes narrowed, trying to figure out whether there was anyone left on the network. Though it was hard to tell with her permascowl, it seemed like she was more irate than usual, more restless - probably caused by the rampant downpour flooding the school. It didn't take very long before she lost her patience with technology and began growling at the computer to whomever could hear her message.]
You have overstepped, Wet Brother. I do not sleep idly with your foul presence dampening the air around me. Did you think the absence of our higher siblings would allow you singular reign over the elements here? In all your foolhardy judgment, did you think I would allow it?
This will be your only warning. Recant, or I will teach you such pain that you will be unmade.
[That said, she storms off, with the sound of volcanic rumbles building in the background.]
In-Character 3rd person sample:
It was not too unusual for a thunderstorm to roll by in the heat of summer. Weather was a remarklably fickle thing, after all. Heavy rainfall, however, especially one that had lasted for days and showed no sign of relenting, was a bit less common. In particular, this phenomeon showed signs of a certain Pokemon being responsible - and the energy he exuded had grown powerful though to permeate through into Pele's very dreams.
Being awakened was never a thing she enjoyed, least of all when it was her brother that called out to her through the veil of sleep. Their bond was a troublesome thing, at times. Perhaps if it was a different place, she may have cast aside this small disturbance and carried on sleeping. But the nexus of worlds was not an ordinary place. If this city succumbed to the waters, then the paths to every one of these new, foreign landscapes would be cut off as well. She may not have been a behemoth of many desires, but the truth of it still stirred in her heart: it would grieve her to lose this land. There was a fine balance of power at stake here, and Pele would not accept defeat at the hands of her brother's ever encroaching sea.
By now, the magma at the heart of the resident volcano had cooled into black, crackled pumice, but it was not nearly enough to keep the Groudon that slept within from the open air. In a fiery burst, she erupted forth from the rock, once again scorching the air with her molten hot aura. For a brief moment the drizzle continued to fall, but each scant drop evaporated the moment it touched the Continent Pokemon. Each one was an insult to her.
It only took one upward glance of her eyes for the clouds be torn apart, disintegrated by pillars of light. It did little to alieve the thick humidity at the moment, but given time, the drought would dispel it as well. Not a drop of moisture was acceptable in her home.
As she rose from the depths of her home to the mountain's peak, Pele peered down to find the flooded school grounds. Everywhere, for as far as her eyes could see, there was so much water. Despite the clipped restraint in her growls, the rage inside her was churning hotter by the second.
I see you have declared war against me as I slept.
As you wish, brother - I will answer. I will answer you with your blood in my teeth and your works boiling before me. And when you crumble as dry dust beneath my claws, you will remember what it means to threaten my realm.
